Happy Tails Alert

An Update on Pets Who Have Found Their Forever Homes!

Blaze
“We just wanted to share that we very much love Blaze.

He’s such a sweet boy, and has really warmed up and come alive in the week he’s been here. It was an amazing change to see his happy tail wag the moment he met our existing dogs (they were a bit less enthused, but are coming around slowly and surely!). He listens well, plays well, and relaxes wonderfully. He had a couple of accidents the first few days of peeing in the house, but we’ve since found our rhythm (and his), and he’s doing great. He is very food eager, and we are working on balancing that a bit as well, and he gets lots of treats and praise. We get up once in the middle of the night to let him out, which I think is on par for a 14wk old puppy. He HATES the leash, but we are building trust and confidence in him first at home, and are trying the leash bit by bit and will try a harness instead of attaching it to the collar to see if that makes him more comfortable.

Thank you so much for making our first shelter adoption experience so wonderful. We love him already, and my son is doing such a GREAT job being Blaze’s #1 buddy.”

What a great update! Thank you Coplin family for sharing – we know Blaze has found the perfect home!
Parker
“When we first met Parker he was a very shy little boy. We fell in love with his big ears and his calm nature. Parker had no problem using the stairs that we have for our two chihuahuas , even though he could’ve easily jumped. He was fascinated with our three Ninjas that roam the house (aka black cats: Luna, Binx and Jet). Parker finally met the one who runs the house, our big Orange kitty Tokkie. Tokkie informed Parker who is boss in this house and even though Parker is bigger, he is in charge. It took one day for him to to feel safe enough to spread out and fall asleep. He has fit into our crazy family perfectly. Parker loves to go on walks and car rides with us. We are working on meeting new people still. We just love when he gets the zoomies, running around our yard. Thank you for allowing us to adopt him!”

Awww – thank you Terri for adopting Parker. We can tell he is living his best life with your family!
The Chicken
“The Chicken (properly Chicken Butt…formerly Sir Pounce Alot) found ME. I was visiting SafeHaven to have a conversation about a Tom Cat in my neighborhood and my most wonderful Chicken drew my attention. His adorable somersaults caught my eye and when I opened his kennel he promptly climbed to my neck and curled up. I cried and it was all decided. He joined my husband and me and our 2 young cats at home and has never had an insecure day since. He’s cuddly and PLAYFUL and funny and VERY intelligent. I love to watch him learn as he’s very deliberate about it. He has favorite toys but honestly anything will do. Especially, his boy brother Eisenhower!”

Thank you Peggy for sharing Chicken’s update with us – we can tell he’s found his purr-fect family!
