Thanks to a generous grant from the ASPCA, SafeHaven is able to offer WAIVED adoption fees on the 2nd Saturday of every month in 2026 - because cost should never be a reason an animal remains in the shelter!
Looking for a meaningful way to spend time together as a family? Join us for Family Volunteer Days—a special opportunity for families to roll up their sleeves and make a difference for animals in need!
During this hands-on morning, families will work together on a variety of fun and impactful activities which may include:
Cleaning Projects – Help keep our shelter clean and comfortable for the animals.
Enrichment Activities – Create toys, treats, and enrichment games to keep our pets happy and stimulated.
Animal Socialization – Spend quality time giving love and attention to our adoptable dogs and cats.
This event is a great introduction to volunteering for both kids and adults, and a perfect way to model compassion and community service as a family. All ages are welcome, but children under 16 years old must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. One adult may supervise up to four children.
Space is limited and registration is required. Come make memories—and maybe even a few furry friends!
Each night includes pizza, popcorn, a little soda, time spent with our wonderful adoptable animals, and a movie. Kids are welcome to bring a blanket (some will be provided) and pillow from home if they’d like, though we do ask that toys stay home. Kids will also need to wear closed toe shoes for animal time. We ask that light-up shoes stay home as they are just too tempting to play with during the movie. Movies will vary from month to month. Titles are available upon request. This is a drop off event. All adults participating in movie nights are current volunteers or staff who have passed a background check. If your child needs accommodations that require an adult to stay with them during the event, please let us know before registering so that can try to make the necessary adjustments. Space is limited so early registration is encouraged.
Join us for a Fill the Van with Cans fundraising event on April 18th from 11am-2pm at the Lebanon Gift & Thrift! We will be there with the SafeHaven van to accept your donations of recyclable bottles and cans as a gift to the animals.
This event will be in honor of Earth Day and go towards BottleDrop's Earth Week matching period, where we can get up to a 20% match of funds raised!
