SafeHaven is happy to support our local community and, if available, we welcome the opportunity to attend your event. To have our Community Outreach team attend your event, please answer this questionnaire.

Tours and Presentations

Youth groups, church groups, scouting groups, and classrooms can go behind the scenes for an educational experience with us. Groups will learn how we care for stray, surrendered and neglected animals in our community. If you would like to schedule a tour, please call us at 541.928.2789 or email [email protected].

Pet Food Pantry

At SafeHaven, we believe pets are family, and we don’t want you to have to worry about not being able to feed your furry family members. Pick up cat and/or dog food from our Pet Food Pantry on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month, 9 am – 11 am, in our back parking lot.

Meals on Wheels

We believe it’s important to help seniors keep their pets, especially when pets are often the only constant companion they have! In order to do our part, we’ve partnered with Meals on Wheels through our Pet Food Program, which helps provide seniors in our community with supplemental pet food. Damaged bags of food donated by Coastal Farm, Target, Costco, Petco, Cools Feed and other local businesses help to support the program.  Donations of quality dog and cat food are welcome at SafeHaven Humane Society and donations are tax deductible. The program is currently serving approximately 60 families in Linn County.

Pet Therapy

It is proven that pet companions can help expand the human life expectancy and improve the mood of individuals. Many seniors who living in nursing homes or retirement communities are unable to have a pet companion so to ensure seniors get regular interactions with pets, SafeHaven Humane Society visits senior communities each month with some of our adoptable animals and/or our alums.
