Youth Volunteer Sessions

Do you have a 6th-9th grader in your life that has a passion for animals and wants to make a difference? Sign them up for SafeHaven’s Youth Volunteer Sessions! Our Youth Volunteer Sessions are designed for youth who want to take their love for animals to the next level. Through hands-on volunteering, teamwork, and behind-the-scenes experiences, participants will learn what it takes to care for shelter animals and support a life-saving mission.

Price: $10 per participant per day

Upcoming Dates:

9/20/25
10/11/25
11/8/25
12/6/25

Time: 9am-12pm
Age Requirement: 6th-9th Grade

Some of the activities youth may participate in during sessions include:

  • Assisting with daily animal care tasks
  • Learning about responsible pet ownership and animal behavior
  • Creating enrichment toys and treats for shelter animals
  • Helping promote adoptable pets through creative projects
  • Supporting their community by helping with assistance programs like Pet Food Pantry

This program blends service learning, animal interaction, and skill-building, empowering young people to grow as leaders and allies for animals in need. No prior experience needed—just a big heart and a willingness to help! Youth can participate in one session or many. Time spent in this program is volunteer time and qualifies for most school-required community service.

Registration fees are nonrefundable. Unused registration fees may be applied to other humane education programs during the same calendar year or be considered a donation. To be considered unused, you must notify SafeHaven that you cannot attend at least 10 days before the event is to begin, so we have time to reopen your space(s).
