Yoda has gone to work with his owner Greg, ever since being adopted from SafeHaven in 2012. Anyone seeing that cute face knows Yoda was destined for stardom and the opportunity came thanks to a happy turn of events late last year.

You see, Greg is currently President of the Greater Albany Rotary Club. He was trying to “put some life into our newsletter” and started using AI pictures of Yoda to announce events, schedule updates, and lots of other club news. He made Yoda their club mascot. As it so happened, District Governor Chris Waugh, out of Eugene, was copied on all Greg’s newsletters and she LOVED that they had a mascot. Chris and the District Officers called Greg and asked if he would mind making Yoda District 5110’s (covering Oregon and Northern California) mascot. He said yes, of course, and told them that he was a former shelter dog, which they loved.

Yoda is now featured on the district website, primarily in the membership recruitment area. They also made over 200 plushie’s to send to each club. If you have a visitor, you take a picture with the Yoda plushie and you get entered into a drawing for trips and other great prizes.
Thanks to Greg and Yoda for being terrific ambassadors for shelters and shelter pets everywhere! We’re proud to have you both aspart of our SafeHaven Alumni family!
