Resources to Help You Keep Your Pet

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes you need a little extra support to keep your pet happy, healthy, and at home. At SafeHaven Humane Society, we’re here to help whenever possible.

Pet Food Pantry

We believe pets are family – and no one should have to choose between feeding themselves or their pet.

Our Pet Food Pantry is open the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, in the back parking lot of SafeHaven.

Cat and dog food is available for pickup. No appointment is needed.

Meals on Wheels Partnership

For many seniors, pets are their closest companions. That’s why we’ve partnered with Meals on Wheels to help provide supplemental pet food through our Pet Food Program.

The program is supported by donations of damaged-but-safe bags of food from generous partners like Coastal Farm, Target, Costco, Petco, Cool’s Feed, and other local businesses.

  • Currently serving around 60 families in Linn County
  • Donations of quality dog and cat food are always welcome and tax-deductible

Wellness Clinics

On the first Friday of each month, SafeHaven hosts a preventative care wellness clinic offering:

  • Vaccinations
  • Flea control
  • Dewormer
  • Microchipping (dogs & cats)

These clinics help pet owners access affordable care and keep their pets living healthy lives.

Community Spay & Neuter Services

SafeHaven is proud to offer low-cost spay and neuter services to community members – when space and resources allow.

All animals adopted from us are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. For community pet appointments and more information, visit our Spay & Neuter Services page.

Pets Are Family Fund

When a pet needs help and an owner is doing their best to provide care, we want to step in where we can. The Pets Are Family Fund is a grant program designed to help keep pets with their families who love them.

This fund may assist with:

  • Spay/neuter costs (based on local clinic pricing)
  • Emergency or necessary veterinary care (up to $400 per household)
  • Behavioral/training support to prevent surrender
Eligibility:
  • Must live in the Mid-Willamette Valley
  • Must complete an application
  • Veterinary estimates required for medical requests
  • Grants are paid directly to the veterinarian

Please allow 3-5 business days for a response. This program is made possible through the support of Petco Love.
