Every Great Love Story Starts with the Right Match!

A New Best Friend in 3 Simple Steps!

We’re SO excited to help you welcome a new furry friend! Adopting a pet is an exciting and meaningful experience, and we’re here to make the process as smooth and joyful as possible. With just a few simple steps, you could be heading home with a new best friend – and a lifetime of unconditional love and post-adoption support.

Step 1: Finding a Connection
Begin by browsing our adoptable animals online or stop by the shelter to chat with our knowledgeable staff. Let us know what you’re looking for – we’re here to help guide you to the perfect match. We encourage you to spend time with animals that fit your lifestyle to ensure a happy, lasting connection.

Step 2: Meeting the ONE
We require all potential adopters to meet the animal in person before finalizing an adoption. Our staff will gladly escort you to a yard or viewing room where you can spend time getting to know the pet who’s caught your eye. They’ll share everything we know about the animal and are happy to answer any questions to help ensure it’s the right match for you.

Dog to Dog Introductions:
If you’re considering adding a second dog to your family, we strongly encourage a Meet & Greet between your current dog and the potential new family member here at the shelter. This helps ensure a smooth and happy transition for everyone. Please note: Outside pets are not allowed in our kennel areas. If you plan to bring your dog for a Meet & Greet, we ask that a second person come along to help care for your pet while you visit with our adoptable dogs. If you choose to adopt without a Meet & Greet, you’ll be asked to sign a Meet & Greet waiver form.

Step 3: Furever Love
Once you’ve found your perfect match, one of our friendly Customer Care team members will guide you through the adoption process. If your new pet is already spayed or neutered, there’s a good chance they can go home with you the same day! The adoption process typically takes about 30-45 minutes from start to finish and includes an adoption agreement and adoption application.

For the safety of your new pet, adopters will be asked to purchase a few essential items—unless they bring them along at the time of adoption—before taking their new family member home.

  • Cats or kittens will need a secure carrier for safe transport.
  • Dogs or puppies will need a properly fitted collar and leash.
