Strudel
“I adopted Strudel from SafeHaven 3 years ago this October. At the time she was called Moonlight, and she came in with her sister who was adopted before her. When I came in to the location, it was early on in my journey of finding a cat companion – I’d only recently decided to actually follow through and adopt – and while I always intended on meeting her, I’d actually come in to look at someone else. I’m so thankful that cat had already been spoken for, because it gave me her instead.
Strudel is truly one of a kind, I call her my soulmate and firmly believe we were meant to be in each others lives. She is the sweetest, most loving being and is *so* smart. When I say she is perfect in almost every sense, I mean it. She spends all day purring, cuddles for hours, follows me like a shadow, and communicates her wants and needs daily. She is easy going and playful, well-mannered at the vet, and loves to rotate windows and watch the wildlife outside. Of course she has her moments, she loves to steal cured meats if given the chance and has a habit of scratching carpets when no-one’s looking, but the joy she brings every day dwarfs that easily. Everyone who has met her has remarked on how wonderful she is, and she’s helped fill more hearts than just my own. I wish I could share her with the whole world for how special she is, but figured the people who helped bring her to me would want to know she’s doing well the most. Thank you for finding her and taking care of her until I could, I can’t even imagine how my life would be if she hadn’t come into it.”
We’re so happy for Sol & Strudel for finding each other! Thank you for sharing your story with us!
Dani
Dani – formerly known as Sadie Know – was quiet and reserved during her time at the shelter. But her new family says that was all an act! Now that she has a home of her own, Dani’s true personality is shining through.
Her family describes her as insanely smart, playful, and goofy. She loves meeting new friends, sniffing out new adventures, and chasing her tail at record-breaking speeds. Dani has already mastered over a dozen tricks and cues, keeping everyone on their toes and laughing daily.
We’re so thrilled we could be part of Dani’s journey and help her find a family that truly adores her. Here’s to a lifetime of joy, belly rubs, and zoomies!
River
River (formerly Cider) arrived at SafeHaven with his siblings, all of them a little unsure of the world around them. He was shy, nervous, and in need of a patient heart to help him feel safe. Lucky for River, that’s exactly what he found! His amazing new family shared this sweet update with us:
“River was super shy when I first met him and now he is out of his shell. He is super lovable and loves to cuddle and fetch sticks. He even has some new furry friends he gets to play with. He is the perfect dog – I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in life.”
Stories like River’s remind us why we do what we do! Thank you to his family for giving him the love and support he needed to grow into the joyful pup he was always meant to be.
Colt
Just look at that smile – Colt is living his best life! This sweet boy was adopted 6 months ago, and he’s absolutely thriving in his forever home. Colt first arrived at SafeHaven in November and quickly became a Doggy Day Out rockstar, charming everyone with his lovable personality. But it wasn’t until January that he finally found his perfect match. Now? Colt enjoys long walks, playing fetch, making new friends (both human and canine!), and curling up for a cozy couch nap.
We are so happy that Colt and his amazing mom, Rebecca, found each other. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, joy, and tail wags!
Vader
When I first started doing doggy day outs with Vader, we instantly connected. He was so well behaved and had a smile on his face the entire time, whether we were on a walk, playing in my back yard, or getting a pup cup. I knew he was the dog for me after we were cuddling on my bed together one night and he closed his eyes with a smile still on his face and he started snoring, loud. I did a couple doggy day outs and one night in with Vader. After he stayed the night, I adopted him the next day. Vader adjusted really well into his new home. I had no problems with him when I first adopted him. It’s like he already knew he was home, forever.
He has a bunch of quirks that I just adore! He loves to talk when he’s playing with other dogs. He snores very loud when it’s bedtime. Vader likes to lay belly up with his four legs extended straight up in the air. Whenever there is food in his vicinity, his eyes get really wide with his ears slicked back, and he always is sitting ready to be given a treat (he does this really quickly, it’s super cute).
Eva
Get ready to smile – this update from Eva’s forever family is everything we hope for in a happy ending! “Eva joined our family on May 9, 2025 just 7 weeks after we lost our beloved Jake. We weren’t sure we were ready…until we saw her sweet face on SafeHaven’s page and fell in love. She’s our first puppy since 1982, and wow – what energy! But what Eva brings to our lives is immeasurable. She’s full of love (and kisses!), gets me outside every day, and has made our home feel whole again. Thank you SafeHaven for bringing us our angel. Eva is perfect and will be spoiled every single day.”
Oliver
Sweet Oliver was adopted a few months ago – and he’s absolutely thriving with his forever family. We recently received this heartwarming update from his adopters: “Oliver has been so darling! He’s cuddly and playful. It seems he’s gotten quite attached to me, which brings me joy. He’s loving the stick and feather toys and eating wet food. And the vet says he’s very healthy.”
Pixel
Pixel (previously Pixie) was adopted back in January! We got this great update on how she’s doing now: “We’ve been going on tons of walks, and I’ve learned that she absolutely loves swimming and playing with other dogs. She’s made a few furry friends along the way, including Merle, another rescue pup adopted from SafeHaven. Watching them play together has been such a joy. We’re getting ready to move to Seattle soon, and I’m excited to see how she adjusts to the new adventure.”
