Spaying (for females) and neutering (for males) before sexual maturity—typically between 4 to 6 months of age, or before a female’s first heat cycle— offers the strongest protection against certain cancers, infections, and unwanted behaviors like roaming, marking, and aggression.
To ensure a safe and successful procedure, the following criteria must be met:
Note: SafeHaven is currently unable to offer pre-surgical bloodwork. If you would like this done—especially for pets over the age of 7—it must be arranged with your primary care veterinarian ahead of time. Pre-surgical bloodwork is strongly recommended for senior animals.

Additional services such as vaccinations, flea control, deworming, microchips, and nail trims can be added on at an additional charge on the morning of surgery.
