Summer Camps

Camps

SafeHaven’s Animal Adventure Camps are back and boy are we excited! This year we are pleased to offer five separate opportunities for kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grade to visit the shelter for a day of fun, friends, and fur. Camps will be full of crafts and activities that center around a unique theme related to the animal welfare world. Each day will also include valuable socialization time spent with our adoptable animals. Camps run from 9am-4pm, and pre-registration is required. Campers need to wear clothes that are ok to get a little dirty and closed toe shoes. Campers will also need to bring a lunch. Snack will be provided. If you would like more details, want to reserve a space, or have any questions please contact Katie B. at HumaneEd@safehavenhumane.com or call 541-928-2789. Camps are $60 per day per child. Let’s get this party started!

August 5: Vet Camp

This camp is almost full. Please submit a registration form for your child and wait to hear from our Humane Education Coordinator as to if there is still space before continuing on to payment. Thank you!

Welcome to Vet Camp! This camp focuses on age-appropriate material concerning the common medical occurrences and issues animals in our community experience. We will look at the care the shelter pets receive, practice an intake exam, discuss what pets need to be healthy and happy in our homes, and much more. This would be perfect for the kiddos that are dreaming of being a veterinarian when they grow up, as well as those that just want to learn a little more about animals in general.

August 9: Art with Animals

This camp is almost full. Please submit a registration form for your child and wait to hear from our Humane Education Coordinator as to if there is still space before continuing on to payment. Thank you!

Here comes the glitter and paint, as well as all sorts of other fun materials! This camp will give kiddos the opportunity to let their inner artist shine. We will spend our day doing fun crafts, working with animals, and learning a little about animal safety and care along the way. Who knows, maybe some of our adoptable animals will turn into artists as well…

August 15: Feline Fine

Calling all cat people! Join us for a fun filled day focusing on our feline friends. What makes them tick, do they really have nine lives, can you teach a cat to do tricks? Join us for camp and find answers to all these questions and more! We will work in some fun activities and crafts too, for a day filled wit feline fun. We can’t let the cats have all the fun though, so there will be some fun with our adoptable dogs as well.

August 24: Crazy Canines

This camp is almost full. Please submit a registration form for your child and wait to hear from our Humane Education Coordinator as to if there is still space before continuing on to payment. Thank you!

Where are all my dog people at? This camp is for you! We will spend the day enjoying activities and crafts that not only offer education about our canine companions, but pack in a ton of fun as well. We’ll focus on things like training, body language, socialization, interesting facts and myths, and much more. Every dog has its day and this is it! Here at SafeHaven we are all about making friends whenever possible though, so we will make sure that our kitty companions aren’t left out.

August 30: All About SafeHaven

What is SafeHaven, where do the animals come from, what does a day at the shelter look like, what’s volunteering? These are all fantastic questions that we hear everyday at the shelter. If you too are curious about SafeHaven, maybe want to volunteer a little, and definitely want to hang out with our adoptable animals then this is the camp for you. Kiddos attending this camp will get a look behind the scenes at SafeHaven, help out with some volunteer activities, socialize with adoptable animals, and learn how the shelter works ad why it is so important. We’ll throw in some fun crafts and activities too, just for good measure.

  • Please fill out a separate form for each child if you would like to sign up multiple.
